Kim debunks some misconceptions about what can happen to your pelvic floor as you get older, and she makes a strong argument for seeing a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic health at least once a year, like you would go to a routine dentist appointment (18:08). As you can probably guess based on this episode’s title, there is more to pelvic health than simply “doing kegels.” And the truth is, there’s a good chance you’re doing kegels incorrectly! We definitely were. Kim delivers some cues and a couple different visual examples to help us make sure we’re doing kegels the right way (34:50).
